A NOTE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
ICT has become a special mission of mine, after traveling to South Africa for the first time in 2008 and witnessing the spirit and beauty of the people. Especially the young adults, many of whom have children and seemed to be living with little sense of accomplishment or hope for a productive life. I believed in their untapped potential.
We, the staff and students, are deeply grateful to all who have contributed to the school, from the various foundations, companies and small businesses, to the individuals who have sponsored the training of a student, to the many friends -- and friends of friends -- who have contributed in our most needed moments.
Understandably, people hearing pleas for funding from new organisations often wonder: How is the money being spent? How can I know it is not being wasted?
Simply stated, ICT is run on a shoestring. Funds pay for teachers' salaries, rent, classroom supplies, food, phones and the like. Not a penny is squandered. All funds collected go directly into the hearts, minds and sustainable futures of our students.
Still, we are in a constant, daily scramble for funding just to keep our doors open. And I believe our doors are worth keeping open. The transformation in our students in just 8 weeks of classroom study is truly awe-inspiring.
So I ask for your help. On behalf of all current and future students.
If there is any amount you wish to contribute, please click here. If you might like to sponsor the training of a student, thereby giving a family a life they could never have dreamed of, please click here.
Or if you would like to talk to me and learn more about ICT, please don't hesitate to contact me.
With gratitude,
Barry Berman, Executive Director
